Los Merengues fans want club to buy Pepe replacement

Over half of Real Madrid’s fans in Spain think that Los Merengues should sign a replacement for injured defender Pepe when the winter transfer market opens. Marca’s poll showed 70% voting for a replacement buy, while AS reported a lower figure of 57%. Portuguese centre half Pepe tore his cruciate ligament in right knee while playing for Real in their 3-2 win over Valencia on Saturday. Ramos has played in the centre for Madrid in the past and has shown himself to be more than competent in that position. Former Dortmund defender Christophe Metzelder is also an option, but games at the Bernabeu have been scarce for the German international.
